The fact that Thanksgiving is coming up is very exciting to me for several reasons. First, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving is our first real game! Second, the night before Thanksgiving I have made plans to hangout with all of my closest friends..kind of like a reunion. And lastly, I will get to see my family, save the best for last right? I have two sisters at home who I miss greatly, as well as my parents and puppy. Although I will only get to be home for one whole day (Thanksgiving Day) Im very excited for break!

Halloween was really fun last night! I saw some pretty creative costumes..mine was not one of them. I will have to have a really good costume next year because this year mine was kind of lame! Halloween is my dads birthday too, so I am home today to see him! Its really nice to be home since I couldn’t go home for fall break. I’ll only be home for one night but its still nice to see the family and some friends. The Vikes beat the Pack again which is sweet! Hopefully they keep playing well and do something in the playoffs. I’ll see you all in class tomorrow

I forgot to do my blog this weekend, so here it is. I stayed at Gustavus for a fall break because of basketball. I have to say that it is much different then it usually is. There are barely any students here..its like a ghost campus. I’m kinda mad that I didn’t go home for just a day because its REALLY boring. However, I did get a lot of reading and home work done. I hope you all enjoyed your breaks! See you all Wednesday

Since I arrived at Gustavus I’ve been waiting for the basketball season to start. I’ve been playing basketball since I can remember. Our first tryout was on Thursday, and today was our last day. The coach e-mailed us the team about an hour ago…I made it! Gustie basketball is somewhat of a tradition in my family. My Grandpa, Dad, two uncles, and two aunts have played basketball here at Gustavus so I am adding on to the tradition. College basketball is much different from high school basketball. Everyone is bigger and stronger and the game is much more physical. Our first game isn’t until a month from now so we will be doing A LOT of practicing. Happy weekend everyone! Go Vikes

I went to three speakers. Dr. Pachauri, Nancy Rabalais and Larry Rasmussen. My favorite speaker was Dr. Pachauri. He was very interesting. He talked about how the change in water supply is also causing climate change. He also talked about how the question of water supply could cause international tension. Because water one day could be a scarce resource, it is likely that it will become the reason for international disputes. Nancy Rabalais was much more technical than both Dr. Pachauri and Larry Rasmussen. She discussed the importance of oxygen in our water supply, and how nutrition (nitrogen and phosphorus) were depleting the oxygen in our water. One of her main points was the increase in hypoxia in the Gulf of Mexico, and the effects it was having on the living organisms in that area. Larry Rasmussen was the last speaker I went to. His speech was based on the ethics of water use. Most people in the class already talked about his three chairs comparison, but I thought it was worth mentioning again. Overall, I thought Nobel was pretty interesting. Although, three speeches is about all I could take. I am very interested in sciences, so if someone were not a science person they may not enjoy it as much as I did. Happy Homecoming!

The game has to be one of the most hyped up games of all times because of the whole Brett Favre thing. Anyway you better all watch the game tonight! GO VIKES

I don’t know how many of you have under gone surgery but its not fun. This is actually my 3th time having some type of surgery on my face. You are probably wondering why, so heres my story. When I was a sophomore in HS I was at basketball tryouts. I dove for a ball and one of my teammates did also. He landed on my head. I jumped up only to see 4 of my teeth fall to the floor. I had just gotten my braces off so I was pretty upset. THEN, on my way to the ER, my mom fainted behind the wheel because of the blood. We crashed into a fence. I had to have a nose surgery, mouth surgery, several root canals and many other procedures. Now im home recovering from just another surgery. I didn’t have much else to talk about so I thought this would be a good story to tell.

I’ve never really been a blogger, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. right? I don’t really know what to talk about on my first post, so I’m going to tell you a REALLY good story. I woke up this morning to do my laundry.(I had a lot). I went down with a friend and put my laundry in the washer. I came back up to my room and did some of my french homework which took about an hour. Then I went back down to move my clothes into the dryer. After everything was in the dryer, I figured I had enough time to go workout. I went and played basketball at Lund for about an hour. When I came back to get my clothes out of the dryer, I saw them on top of the dryer all folded. My socks were even paired! Basically, I’m trying to tell you that the Laundry Fairy truly does exist!
